The contest took place in Pyongyang, Phyongsong City, South Phyongan Province and Sariwon City, North Hwanghae Province. The contest was held divided into senior secondary, junior secondary and primary schools. They competed in 17 events including basketball, volleyball, table-tennis, Taekwon-Do and Ssirum (Korean wrestling).

Pyongyang came first in team standing.

Present at the closing ceremony were Jon Yong Nam, chairman of the C.C., the youth league, Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Commission, officials concerned, officials of the youth league, teachers of specialized sports groups, players and schoolchildren in the city.
