S. Korean Organizations Declare General Strike in Protest against Misrule

| Pyongyang, August 30 (KNCA) -- Trade union organizations of the public sector of south Korea held a meeting in Seoul on August 27 at which they declared that they would stage a general strike in demand of the withdrawal of the unpopular labor policy. Speeches were made at the meeting. The speakers said that the measure for bringing the public sector to normal pursued by the present regime was premised on the sacrifice of workers in the field of public sector. They noted they would stage a general strike to oppose the authorities' de-nationalization of the public sector and win the workers' right. |
