The statement recalled that on August 29 the Jongro Police Station in Seoul issued a warrant of arrest for members of Jongyojo for the mere reason that they spearheaded the campaign for publishing a declaration on the situation and the campaign for leaving school early over the ferry Sewol disaster.

This is a human rights abuse trampling down the freedom of expression and association, the people's basic right, and an indiscriminate politically-motivated suppression of Jongyojo, the statement charged.

It lashed out at the regime for working with bloodshot eyes to crack down on Jongyojo keen to conduct proper education for children.

It demanded the authorities stop the politically-motivated suppression of Jongyojo.
