Ministries, national institutions and many other units of Pyongyang and provinces presented more than 20 000 potted flowers and flower shrubs of at least 1 400 species to the show.

The exhibits included miniature gardens decorated with flowers and flower shrubs and CDs on flower seeds and the art of making flower products.

The show also involves an experience-sharing meeting and presentation of scientific and technological knowledge to disseminate the technology for cultivating flowers and creating forestation.

The opening ceremony was held at the April 15 Children's Flower Garden.

Present at the ceremony were Choe Yong Gon, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Kang Yong Su, minister of Urban Management, Cha Hui Rim, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee, Kong Tok Chang, director of the Pyongyang Horticulture Guidance Bureau, officials and workers of flower cultivating units including the field of greening and flower lovers from across the country.

Kang Yong Su made an opening address.

The show will last till Sunday.
