In order to bring about a decisive turn in education, it is necessary to thoroughly establish the trait of attaching importance to education throughout the country and raise a strong wind of giving priority to education, the editorial says, adding:

All the people should turn out to help the nation's education make progress.

Education is a noble patriotic work to which not only educators but also all members of the society should direct efforts.

The whole party and country and all the people should attach importance to education, direct primary efforts to its development and provide conditions necessary for the education of rising generation on a priority basis.

All officials and other people should regard education as their own work and render material and moral assistance to education as befitting the parents who entrust their children to teachers.

They should firmly establish a social atmosphere of respecting and preferentially treating teachers and always pay deep attention to the education of the rising generation.

It is necessary to channel great efforts into constructing school buildings and solving the shortage of classrooms in conformity with the enforcement of the universal 12-year compulsory education as an immediate task. To this end, provincial, city and county people's committees and organizations supporting schools should increase their role.

The Juche-oriented education will surely reach the world's highest eminence as there are the wise leadership of the party, the might of the world's best socialist educational system and the large contingent of revolutionary educators loyal to the party and the leader, the country and its people, the editorial concludes.
