Present there were vice-chairpersons of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, the chairman of the Central Audit Committee of Chongryon, department directors of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, chairpersons of the Chongryon headquarters in the Kanto area, leading officials of organizations and enterprises of Chongryon and Korean commercial workers in Japan.

Present there on invitation were various personages of Japan, foreign ambassadors to Japan, representatives of international bodies in Tokyo and foreign correspondents.

Nam Sung U, vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, made a speech at the reception.

He said that the flames for creating the Korean speed are being flared up in all fields for building a thriving nation and a highly civilized nation and eye-opening successes achieved in the drive to improve the standard of people's living in the DPRK thanks to the wise guidance and energetic field guidance of Marshal Kim Jong Un.

He noted that Chongryon would together with the homeland continue ushering in a new heyday of the movement of Koreans in Japan and make every possible effort to boost the friendship between the DPRK and Japan.

The military tensions on the Korean peninsula are ascribable to the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK and military pressure and provocation against it, he said.

He hoped that the agreements on implementing the DPRK-Japan Pyongyang Declaration and improving bilateral relations which were made at the DPRK-Japan inter-governmental talks in May would be sincerely carried out.
