The commander of the U.S. forces in south Korea and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the south Korean puppet army disclosed the plan on September 4.

The division will stem from the Second Division of the U.S. forces in south Korea and include a brigade-level unit of the south Korean puppet army. A major general of the U.S. forces will be commander of the division and a brigadier general of the south Korean puppet army vice-commander of the division.

Staff officers of the south Korean army will join the command of the Second Division of the U.S. forces.

The operation plan of the combined division is being worked out in the direction of carrying out a civil operation and special operation in the DPRK.

By forming the combined division the U.S. imperialists seek to put the south Korean army under tighter control and intensify the joint military drills in a bid to step up the preparations for a war against the DPRK.

South Korean people from all walks of life are becoming increasingly vocal demanding the cancellation of the plan.
