The performance was given by art circle members of the Kumhwa Mine, Service Management Station of the Myonggan Coal Mine, the Ongjin Mine and the Taean Friendship Glass Factory who were selected in the art festival.

The performance began with narration and chorus "Ode to the Motherland" and "Joy of the People". Put on the stage were colorful numbers including poem and story-telling "Greatest Happiness", kayagum ensemble "Nilliri for Songun" and dance "Song of Big Fish Haul".

The performers praised President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il for glorifying the DPRK as an invincible socialist power dignified with independence, self-sustenance and self-defence.

The performance showed noble sentiment of the Korean people with high artistic skill. It ended with poem and chorus "We Know Nobody but You".

It was enjoyed by Choe Ryong Hae, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Hyon Sang Ju, chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, officials and members of the federation and workers.
