Rodong Sinmun Demands Withdrawal of U.S. Forces from S. Korea
Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- The U.S. occupation of south Korea was an unpardonable infringement upon the sovereignty which cruelly quelled the aspiration of the Koreans for the nation's independent development and their right to achieve it. It was also an anti-reunification criminal act which laid a big obstacle in the road for national reunification, wrecking peace and increasing the danger of a nuclear war on the Korean peninsula.

Rodong Sinmun Monday says this in an article.

The paper cites facts to prove that history of the national division and disgrace began and the Korean nation has suffered untold misfortune and disaster as the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces occupied south Korea on September 8, 1945.

It goes on:

The U.S. imperialist aggressor forces' occupation of south Korea was, indeed, an unpardonable crime which should never be allowed to go on as it is the biggest crime in human history.

The inhuman crimes committed by the U.S. by mercilessly quenching the desire of the Korean nation for independence and imposing the intolerable misfortune and suffering on it through its forces' illegal presence in south Korea are the most vicious and unjustifiable encroachment upon the sovereignty.

The U.S. is describing GIs in south Korea as the "deterrent force" for ensuring peace and security and the "guardian" of the south Korean people. But it is a sheer lie as was proven by the 69 year-long history of the U.S. occupation of south Korea.

All the Koreans in the north and the south are trembling with indignation against the U.S. imperialist aggressors who are hell-bent on all sorts of crimes while violating the sovereignty and dignity of the nation, and are strongly calling for the withdrawal of the GIs from south Korea.

It is hard to ensure peace and independent reunification of the country without the withdrawal of the GIs, root cause of the national misfortune and suffering.
