S. Korean Body Protests against U.S. Move to Establish MD

Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification, a south Korean organization, held a news conference before the building of the defense ministry of the south Korean puppet regime on Sept. 5 in protest against U.S. moves to establish a missile defense system in south Korea.

At the press conference, the organization said it was recently disclosed through the media that the U.S. has pressed ahead with its plan to deploy THAAD, the core of the U.S. missile defense system, in the U.S. military base in Phyongthaek, and that the south Korean regime has been examining the plan to deploy it additionally.

The U.S. is vociferating about the "threat from the north" by exaggerating the situation and distorting the facts in order to deploy THAAD in south Korea, the body said, and continued:

The deployment of THAAD would make south Korea an advanced base of the U.S. missile defense system and result in dragging south Korea deeper into the military alliance with the U.S.

The deployment amounts to threatening peace, the body said, urging the south Korean regime to withdraw the plan.
