DPRK Wrestler Bags Gold Medal in World Championships

| Pyongyang, September 9 (KCNA) -- DPRK wrestler Yang Kyong Il bagged a gold medal in the men's 57kg freestyle category of the 2014 World Wrestling Championships. The championships have been under way in Tashkent, Uzbekistan since September 8. They brought together over 700 men and women ace wrestlers from at least 80 countries and regions including the DPRK. He beat his south Korean rival in 16 superstar tournament on Monday. In the quarter-finals he trounced his Japanese rival. In the semi-finals he defeated his Iranian rival. He beat his Georgian rival in the finals, winning the world title. He was awarded at an awarding ceremony. |
