Rodong Sinmun Warns U.S. Not to Be Overconfident to Ruin Itself

Pyongyang, September 11 (KCNA) -- A spokesperson for the U.S. Defense Department recently blustered that the U.S.-south Korea joint military exercises would be put on a permanent basis. Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun Thursday says this proves that the U.S. never wants peace and stability on the Korean peninsula but sticks to its brigandish scenario to swallow up the whole Korean nation and its territory by force. The U.S. strategy toward Korea precisely means a strategy of strength, the commentary says, and goes on: The U.S.-led joint military exercises ceaselessly staged on the peninsula for decades are part of its moves to ignite a war against the DPRK. The U.S.-south Korea war maneuvers targeting the DPRK are the largest in the world in their scale and number and very dangerous in their programs. What the U.S. belligerent forces are seeking is not the DPRK only. The U.S. strategists have regarded the Korean peninsula as a "bridge for crossing the continent" for "Americanizing" the world and a "dagger" for cutting off "a large lump of meat" called "Asia" up this date since the Soviet-U.S. Cold War era. The north-targeted madcap war maneuvers staged in south Korea and its vicinity in recent years, assuming more provocative and aggressive nature, would be unthinkable without the U.S. pivot to Asia-Pacific strategy. It is the invariable intention of the U.S. to periodically strain the situation on the Korean peninsula and meet its aggressive and hegemonic interests. One's overconfidence is bound to lead to one's self-ruin. The DPRK, an independent and sovereign state, ranks itself among a few nuclear weapons states. The U.S. rulers would be well advised not to disregard the fear of the DPRK's nuclear weapons and missiles growing among the U.S. forces deployed on the peninsula and in its vicinity. |
