The joint statement said:

After the Soviet Union and other East European socialist countries collapsed late in the last century, the DPRK defended the idea of socialism under the leadership of Kim Jong Il by waging a fierce struggle to foil the U.S. and other imperialists' moves and weather all difficulties and meet their challenges.

Today the world envies the DPRK, a nuclear weapons state capable of beating any formidable enemy and its socialist system which guarantees the popular masses genuine rights through free education and healthcare.

Under the guidance of Marshal Kim Jong Un the DPRK will as ever dynamically advance to build a proud, happy and thriving nation under the uplifted flag of the DPRK and red flag of socialism.
