Speakers, addressing the rallies, referred to the fact that a south Korea-U.S. high-level meeting was to be held at the Ministry of Defense that day.

They said that the meeting would decide on the issue of extending the transfer of the right to command wartime operation for an indefinite period until the establishment of the MD is completed.

They demanded the authorities clarify the stand opposing the indefinite extension of the transfer of the right.

If THAAD is deployed in south Korea, it will turn into an advanced base for the operation based on this system and thus escalate conflict in Northeast Asia.

It is the military agreement to be concluded among south Korea, the U.S. and Japan in the form of MOU that will provide an institutional guarantee for the establishment of the MD, they noted.

The agreement will make the military ties between south Korea and Japan involve intelligence, operations and logistics and help knock into shape a triangular military alliance in fact, they charged.

They demanded an immediate halt to the moves to conclude the agreement.
