Present there were scientists, technicians, teachers, postgraduates and officials of Kim Il Sung University, the Hydro-meteorological Service, the Maritime Administration of the DPRK and other units of hydro-meteorology and marine science and relevant units.

The participants heard at least 80 papers dealing with successes conducive to putting meteorological observation and forecast on a scientific basis and developing marine industry.

Drawing the attention of the participants were many pieces of information about researches and proposals which are of significance in improving forecast technology and method and developing and actively harnessing marine resources as required by the developing reality, including the establishment of real-time informing system of hydro-meteorology forecast and researches into long-term marine change and marine organisms.
