Present there were scientists, technicians, teachers, researchers, postgraduates and officials of science and education institutions and the field of chemical industry, including the State Academy of Sciences, Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, Kim Hyong Jik University of Education, Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry and the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex.

The participants heard at least 60 valuable papers prepared by various units.

Speakers introduced successes and experience gained in solving the scientific and technological issues arising in increasing the proportion of locally available raw and other materials needed for producing varieties of fertilizers and chemical products by further developing the nation's chemical industry.
