Popular Films in 14th PIFF

Pyongyang, September 20 (KCNA) -- The 14th Pyongyang International Film Festival with the idea of independence, peace and friendship was opened on Wednesday in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, drawing many citizens. The festival is going on, divided into competition, specialty and information sections. The most popular are competitive films now on show at cinemas in Pyongyang, including the Pyongyang International Cinema House. They include feature films, documentary films, short feature films and animations. Typical of them are German film "My Beautiful Country", Russian film "Vasilisa", Indian films "Ram-Leela" and "Singh saab the Great", Chinese film "The Ferry", Myanmar film "The Moon Lotus", British film "Fast Girls" and Iranian film "Cinema Dream". Russian documentary film "What Is Holocaust?" shows the atrocious crimes the fascist Hitlerites committed in Auschwitz Concentration Camp during the Second World War. The Korean animation "Awangnyo Who Found Fire" vividly deals with the discovery of fire, which brought about an epoch-making change in human evolution. |
