S. Korean Farmers Struggle against Opening of Rice Market

Pyongyang, September 21 (KCNA) -- South Korean farmers staged actions in protest against the puppet authorities' moves to open the rice market in Kwangju and different areas of South Jolla Province on Sept. 18, according to the south Korean internet paper Voice of People.

Delegates of various farmers' organizations and members of the farmers' associations of more than 10 sub-counties held a meeting outside the building of the Haenam County Office.

A resolution was adopted at the meeting.

It said they would turn out in the large-scale protest with the on-going struggle as an occasion.

It stressed the need to stage various actions in different parts of the country to check the opening of rice market.

At the end of the meeting, they took part in the demonstration of motorcars.
