Journalists and Media Persons Tour Revolutionary Battle Sites in Area of Mt. Paektu

Samjiyon, September 21 (KCNA) -- Journalists and other media persons in the field of media from across the country toured the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu. They held a starting ceremony before the Monument to the Victorious Battle of Pochonbo on Sept. 17 and marched to Pochonbo. They went round the command post of the Battle of Pochonbo, the then police post of the Japanese imperialists, post office, sub-county office, etc. associated with feats of President Kim Il Sung who brought the dawn of national liberation to the people who groaned under the colonial rule of the Japanese imperialists. They climbed Mt. Paektu, the holy mountain of the revolution, on Sept. 19. They visited leader Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp. They laid bouquets before the mosaic portraying the three commanders of Mt. Paektu and paid tribute to it. They went round the headquarters log cabin, room for members of the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army, the shallow well used by anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk and trees bearing revolutionary slogans written by her. They toured the Chongbong, Konchang, Pegaebong bivouacs, the Monument to the Victorious Battle in Musan Area, Mupho bivouac and battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu. They conducted political and cultural work and creative activities including meetings to hear impressions of reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas read by them, poem recital, meetings to hear impressions of tour and express impressions of famous works on the theme of revolutionary traditions and discussion on the seed in literary works. They also camped out. They arrived at the Samjiyon Revolutionary Battle Site on Sunday, laid bouquets and flowers before the statue of the President and paid tribute to him. There took place a meeting of the marchers at the Samjiyon Grand Monument that day to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche started on Mt. Paektu under the Songun revolutionary leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un. |
