President Kim Il Sung made sure that the institute was founded on September 26, Juche 53 (1964) and wisely led it to contribute to protecting crops from all kinds of harmful insects and increasing agricultural production.

Leader Kim Jong Il provided the institute with modern facilities as required by the new century and indicated tasks and ways for killing noxious insects and taught ways for doing so.

Marshal Kim Jong Un regarded agriculture and science as outposts for defending socialism and has shown profound loving care and trust for the scientists and technicians so that they might creditably fulfill their responsibilities and duties.

Over the past five decades the institute has developed and introduced efficacious agricultural chemicals for killing harmful insects and contributed to boosting agricultural production.

A meeting to mark the anniversary took place on Wednesday.
