Int'l Scientific Symposium of Kim Il Sung University Closes
Pyongyang, September 24 (KCNA) -- The International Scientific Symposium of Kim Il Sung University closed with due ceremony at the university on Wednesday.

The symposium proved to be an international gathering for prestigious educators and scientists of universities in different countries as it provided a scientific foundation for properly understanding advantages of written and spoken Korean language and literary legacies and its long history.

Present at the closing ceremony were Thae Hyong Chol, president of Kim Il Sung University and concurrently minister of Higher Education, and officials, teachers and researchers of the university.

Also present were delegations and delegates of different countries, Russian experts on Korean language and a delegation of Korean University of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan.

Choe Jong Ho, first vice-president of Kim Il Sung University, said in a closing address that the symposium attended by prominent scholars at home and abroad heard papers dealing with signal achievements made in properly understanding advantages of the written and spoken Korean language and literary legacies and its long history.

He expressed expectation that scholars of Kim Il Sung University and universities of different countries would make brisk exchange to further deepen the study of Korean linguistics, literature and history in the future, too.

A letter to supreme leader Kim Jong Un was adopted at the ceremony.

In the meantime, there were panel discussions and question-and-answer session as part of the symposium on the same day.
