Suppression of Farmers Protesting against Opening of Rice Market Denounced

| Pyongyang, September 25 (KCNA) -- Farmers under the Federation of Peasants Associations of south Korea held a press conference in Seoul on September 22 at which they denounced the puppet authorities for suppressing farmers in their struggle against the opening of rice market, according to KBS of south Korea. The food sovereignty on this land has been exposed to a grave threat due to the authorities' traitorous moves to open the rice market, they noted. It is unreasonable that the secretariat of the "National Assembly" filed complaint with the police against the farmers who staged a sit-in at the hall of the "National Assemblymen" on September 18 in protest against the unpopular moves to open the rice market, they added. |
