DPRK Men's Football Team Advances into Finals at Asian Games

| Inchon, September 30 (KCNA Correspondent) -- The DPRK men's football team beat its Iraqi rival 1:0 in the semi-finals on Sept. 30 to advance into the finals at the 17th Asian Games. There was no goal until the end of the second half of the match. So both teams had to play extra-time match. When the DPRK team was given a chance of penalty kick at around the 96th minute, Jong Il Gwan admirably kicked the ball into the Iraqi goalmouth from the area 20m away from it. In an interview after the match the Iraqi coach said the DPRK team could win the match as it proved to be strong full of energy. The DPRK team will play the finals on Oct. 2. |
