In the capital city of Pyongyang, many aged men and women were seen playing sports games and dancing with vigor in pleasure parks and other parts of the city. Ri Chol Hui, vice-chairwoman of the C.C., Federation for the Care of the Elderly of Korea, told KCNA in Phalgok Park of Mangyongdae District where old persons' sports and amusement games were underway: The aged in the country have led a worthwhile life, being respected as forerunners of the revolution, under the deep care of the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. After the birth of the DPRK, President Kim Il Sung had enforced a lot of popular policies so that the government could take care of the old persons' life and health in a responsible manner, and established the social trait of respecting and helping the aged throughout the country. In December Juche 84 (1995) leader Kim Jong Il made public a celebrated work "Respecting the Forerunners of the Revolution Is a Noble Moral Obligation of Revolutionaries", that serves as guidelines for the care of the elderly in the country. Also, the C.C., Federation for the Care of the Elderly of Korea came into being in the country and has intensified its activities under the meticulous care of Generalissimo Kim Jong Il and supreme leader Kim Jong Un.
