It was sponsored by the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea.

Present there were officials, scientists and technicians of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, the State Nano Technology Bureau, the Academy of Agricultural Science, the Academy of Medical Science, the Education Commission, the Ministry of Machine-building Industry and other units.

The presentation was divided into panels of nano theory and measuring, nano materials and elements, nano medical science, agriculture and environment. More than 110 papers were presented.

The participants heard papers introducing successes achieved in the researches into putting nano technology on a higher level.

Highly appreciated by them were papers on successes made in the latest scientific researches which helped settle problems arising in production, measuring and application of nano materials and those which contributed to economic construction.

On display at the exhibition were more than 120 varieties of latest technical products and materials showing successes in the introduction of nano technology to different fields.
