Pyongyang, October 2 (KCNA) -- On display at the International Friendship Exhibition House in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea are a wooden vase and horsehair shoes, which were presented to leader Kim Jong Il by Norodom Sihanouk, who was the great king of Cambodia, and his son Norodom Yuvaneath. Deeply fascinated by Kim Jong Il's personality during several rounds of their visits to the DPRK, they presented the gifts to him on his birthday, February 16, Juche 63 (1974). The wooden vase gives a glimpse of the national character of the Cambodian people, with various types of blue and black patterns carved in it against the background of light brown color. The horsehair shoes are made of black horse's mane and tail for the summer use. The gifts, appended with the king's card reading "Your Excellency Kim Jong Il, I pay respect to you", represent their deep reverence for Kim Jong Il. |
