DPRK Citizens Seized with Joy

Pyongyang, October 2 (KCNA) -- The news of the DPRK's victory in the women's football finals at the 17th Asian Games has lashed the whole country into ecstasy of joy. The DPRK defeated the one-time World Cup champion Japan 3:1 in the finals. Watching the gold medal games on TV, many people burst into joyful tears when the match came to an end. Newspapers of the country highlighted the finals, and the news has become a main topic of its citizens. O Kwang Hyok, head of a workshop of the Pyongyang Thermal Power Complex, told KCNA he was sure that the DPRK would soon win the world championship in the women's football. So Sung Hyok, an art teacher of Kinjae Junior Secondary School in Sosong District of Pyongyang, said that he would make a masterly picture with images of the women footballers painted in it. Jong Hyon Chol, a teacher of Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering, said that those women footballers are very praiseworthy. The local people are now earnestly waiting for the day to meet the admirable women footballers. |
