It went on:

Kim Jong Il developed the WPK into the party of President Kim Il Sung which carries forward the idea and cause of the President after his demise and defended socialism with Songun politics and ushered in a new heyday of building a thriving nation.

The founding of the WPK on Oct. 10, 1945 by the President helped establish the socialist system centered on the popular masses in the people's country, the first of its kind in the history of the Korean nation spanning five thousand years.

Oct. 17 marks the 88th anniversary of the DIU.

Thanks to the formation of the DIU the Korean revolution made a new start and the Korean people came to be guided by a correct programme of struggle and strategy and tactics.

October is the very meaningful month which is crowded with significant holidays of the WPK and which comprehensively deals with its protracted and glorious history.

In an article titled "Kim Jong Il, 17th anniversary of his election as general secretary of the WPK" the bulletin noted that he unrolled a plan for building a thriving nation and formulated Songun politics as the basic political mode under socialism.
