Present there were Choe Un Bok, chairwoman of the association, representatives of the Federation of Korean National Economic Workers in China, the Liaoning Regional Association of the General Association of Koreans in China and the Liaoning Regional Association of Federation of Korean Young Nationals in China and other Koreans in China.

Choe Un Bok read out the proposal for founding the DFRK and the "Declaration for Development of North-South Relations and Peace and Prosperity".

Vice-Chairman Choe Su Bong spoke at the seminar.

He said the October 4 declaration which the north and the south agreed upon and solemnly declared at home and abroad thanks to the unshakable will of leader Kim Jong Il for reunification is the reunification programme common to the nation which reflects the will of all Koreans for the independent development of the nation and the peaceful reunification of the country as the programme for implementing the June 15 joint declaration.

The validity and vitality of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration have already been proved in practice, he said, calling upon all Koreans aspiring after the reunification of the country to support the programmes for reunification and struggle to carry out them.

Then followed speeches by others.

The speakers called upon all Koreans in China to turn out as one in the struggle to achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country under the unfurled banner of By Our Nation Itself under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un, true to the proposal for national reunification and the reunification programmes common to the nation provided by President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.
