Present there were Chairman of the National Reconciliation Council Kim Yong Dae who is chairman of the Central Committee of the Korean Social Democratic Party, Chairman of the North Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration Kim Wan Su who is director of the Secretariat of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of Korea, Chairman of the North Headquarters of the Pan-National Alliance for Korean's Reunification Choe Jin Su who is chairman of the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Reunification of Korea, officials of political parties and social and religious organizations and people from all walks of life.

It was attended by a delegation of the south side led by Kim Sam Yol, permanent chairman of the south side preparatory committee for the joint event for celebrating the Foundation Day of Korea, and overseas compatriots staying in the homeland.

After a ritual they performed an ancestral sacrifice for Tangun.

Kim Yong Dae and Kim In Hwan, chairman for Religious Affairs of the Central Headquarters of Chondoism of south Korea, made congratulatory speeches.

They expressed belief that when all the Koreans at home and abroad get united close under the banner of patriotism based on the commonness as a homogeneous nation and turn out as one to implement the joint declarations, the barrier of distrust and confrontation would be pulled down and the country's reunification be surely achieved.

Delegates of the north and the south made addresses.

Yun Jong Ho, vice-chairman of the Council for the Reunification of Tangun's Nation, said that the immortal feats President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il performed by making sure that the history of Tangun's nation would last forever on this land remain shining more brilliantly thanks to Marshal Kim Jong Un.

He noted that next year is the significant year marking the 15th anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration and the 70th anniversary of the country's liberation and 2015 should be greeted with splendor as the year of the June 15 era of independent reunification and the year of grand festival for reunification.

Kim Sam Yol said that the joint event for celebrating the Foundation Day of Korea clearly proves that when all Koreans pool their will and efforts they can surely achieve the peaceful reunification of the country though they face difficulties and trials.

He stressed the need to devote all efforts and wisdom for reunifying the country by uniting as one in the spirit of By Our Nation Itself.

An appeal to the compatriots at home and abroad was read out at the joint event.

The appeal called for preserving and glorifying the excellent tradition and history of the Korean nation and appealed to the Koreans to get united close and thoroughly implement the north-south joint declarations under the banner of patriotism and usher in a new era of independent reunification and national prosperity.

There took place a brass band performance and art performance by DPRK artistes and Taekwon-Do demonstration.
