Kim Il Sung's Official Visits to Soviet Union Marked in Belarus

Pyongyang, October 4 (KCNA) -- Events took place in Minsk, Belarus on Oct. 1 to mark the 65th anniversary of President Kim Il Sung's first official visit to the Soviet Union and the 30th anniversary of his official visit to it in 1984. A photo exhibition opened at the history museum of Minsk City under the co-sponsorship of the Communist Parties-the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and the Communist Party of Belarus. Displayed there were photos documenting the exploits of Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un. Also on display there were works of the peerless great men of Mt. Paektu and other Korean books and photos and art pieces showing the true picture of Songun Korea. Present there on invitation were officials of the Communist Parties-the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus, the history museum and other officials concerned, masses and staff members of the DPRK embassy in Moscow. Taysaev, first vice-chairman of the Council of the Communist Parties-the Communist Party of the Soviet Union who is also secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, made an opening address to be followed by speeches. The speakers referred to the opening of the exhibition under the deep care of Kim Jong Un, saying that the exhibition would offer the Belarusian people an opportunity to know better about the exploits of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. They noted they would make every effort for the development of the friendly relations between the Communist Party of Belarus and the Workers' Party of Korea. Its participants went round the exhibition before watching Korean documentary "History of Eternal Friendship." Meanwhile, there was a seminar on the theme of "History of friendship" at the history museum under the sponsorship of the Minsk City Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus. |
