The British Association for the Study of Songun Policy said this in a special article posted on its website on Sept. 30 to mark the 17th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the 69th founding anniversary of the WPK.

The article said:

Kim Jong Il's election as general secretary of the WPK was the manifestation of all the party members and other people's ardent reverence, absolute support and trust in him as he had made a great contribution to the building of the Juche-oriented party since he started his work at the Central Committee of the WPK in 1964.

Having him as its general secretary the WPK raised its leadership position and role and achieved great successes in bolstering up defence capability and stepping up economic construction, frustrating all the moves of the imperialists.

The Fourth Conference of the WPK decided to hold him in high esteem as general secretary for all ages and glorify his revolutionary life and undying exploits forever.

The cause of building the Juche-oriented party will surely be accomplished under the wise leadership of respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, faithful successor to the idea and cause of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.
