Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- Batric Mijovic, general secretary of the New Yugoslav Communist Party of Serbia, released a statement on Oct. 2 in support of the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo (DFRK). Recalling that President Kim Il Sung advanced the proposal for founding the DFRK at the Sixth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea on October 10, 1980, he referred to its detailed contents. He added: The north and the south, in the June 15 joint declaration, recognized that there is commonness in the north-proposed low-level federation and the south-proposed confederation for national reunification and agreed to work for reunification in this direction. This was unanimously supported and welcomed not only by all Korean people but also by the international community. The most reasonable and practical way for putting the inter-Korean relations on a normal track, defusing the danger of a war and ushering in a new era of independent reunification and co-prosperity is to thoroughly preserve and implement the joint declarations the north and the south agreed upon in the past. The New Yugoslav Communist Party of Serbia extends invariable support and solidarity to the stand of the Workers' Party of Korea and the government of the DPRK for mending the inter-Korean relations and achieving the independent and peaceful reunification of the country and calls on all the peace-loving people in the world to support the Korean people's just cause. |
