Present there were senior party, state and army officials including Kim Yong Nam, Pak Pong Ju and Hwang Pyong So, the chairperson of a friendly party, officials of the party, armed forces and power bodies, social organizations, ministries and national institutions, service personnel of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, officials and labor innovators of institutions and industrial establishments in Pyongyang, overseas compatriots and the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front.

The reporter said that Kim Jong Il's election as general secretary of the WPK in line with the unanimous will and desire of the entire party, the whole army and all the people was an epochal political event in the development of the WPK and the Korean revolution.

Kim Jong Il made a new history of building the WPK into the party of the leader with his brilliant wisdom and rare insight, extraordinary organizing ability and revolutionary sweep and performed great feats in accomplishing the socialist cause of Juche while shouldering upon himself the heavy burden of party building and activities for decades, the reporter said, adding;

Kim Jong Il formulated the revolutionary idea of President Kim Il Sung as Kimilsungism and set forth a programme for modeling the whole society on Kimilsungism through his energetic ideological and theoretical activities and thus clearly indicated the guiding idea and action programme the revolutionary party should hold fast to forever in our era.

He set forth an original policy for modeling the whole party on Kimilsungism and energetically led the struggle to implement it, bringing about a fundamental turn in the party's organizational and ideological construction and leadership art unprecedented in the history of our party.

He built our party into a mother party which serves the people with its roots struck among them by fully embodying the President's idea of believing in the people as in Heaven.

He made sure that party work and activities were clearly oriented to imbuing the whole party with the Songun idea and enforcing the Songun politics as required by the new era of the Juche revolution.

In the 1990s when the Korean revolution faced a stern trial, he laid down the Songun politics as the party's revolutionary leadership mode and comprehensively embodied it, putting the DPRK on the status of a political, ideological and military power and ushering in a new era of building a thriving socialist nation.

Under his leadership, the party's policy for the country's reunification and strategy of external activities were successfully carried out and the June 15 era of reunification in which the nation advanced in the idea of By Our Nation Itself was ushered in and the country's international position and influence rapidly increased.

The WPK has invariably preserved its revolutionary character and nature as Kim Il Sung's and Kim Jong Il's party and is glorifying the new century of the Juche revolution with the annals of victory and prosperity under the uplifted banner of great Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism.

The reporter called for fully demonstrating the dignity and might of Kim Il Sung's and Kim Jong Il's Korea and building the strongest country and people's paradise under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un.
