Chongryon Officials Call for Opening New Phase of Independent Reunification

Tokyo, October 6 (KNS-KCNA) -- Officials of organizations of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and chairpersons of its headquarters separately made public statements on Oct. 4, the 7th anniversary of the October 4 declaration. Ri Jong Man, managing director of the Standing Council of the Korean Federation of Workers in Commerce in Japan, said the October 4 declaration provided by leader Kim Jong Il is a programme for reunification common to the nation as it indicated the concrete and realistic way of achieving the independent and peaceful reunification of the country in the idea of the June 15 joint declaration. Kim Yong Ju, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the Korean Youth League in Japan, underscored the need to join the youth and students in the north, the south and overseas in devoting their spirit and enthusiasm to the struggle for ushering in the second June 15 era. Ro Mu Hyon, vice-chairman of the Association of Koreans in Japan for Peaceful Reunification, recalled the historic significance of the October 4 declaration which was provided by Kim Jong Il to all Koreans, renewing the pledge to fulfill its mission and responsibility in implementing the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration to bring earlier the reunification of the country. Ryang Ok Chul, vice-chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the Korean Democratic Women's Union in Japan, said Koreans in the north, the south and abroad and Korean women in Japan received with joy and hope the October 4 declaration as it indicated the most correct way of developing the north-south relations and achieving peace and prosperity in the idea of By Our Nation Itself. Hwang Myong, chairman of the Tokyo Metropolitan Headquarters of Chongryon, Pu Yong Uk, chairperson of the Osaka Prefectural Headquarters of Chongryon, Kim Chun Gwon, chairman of the Hyogo Prefectural Headquarters of Chongryon, Jang Thae Ho, chairman of the Fukushima Prefectural Headquarters of Chongryon, Kim Tok Yon, chairman of the Gifu Prefectural Headquarters of Chongryon, and Pak Chol, chairman of the Yamaguchi Prefectural Headquarters of Chongryon, said all Koreans in Japan would turn out in the nationwide struggle to implement the north-south declarations, holding Marshal Kim Jong Un in high esteem as the sun of the nation and lodestar of reunification. |
