At the meeting an appeal was read out to be followed by speeches.

The appeal was sent to the Koreans in the north, the south and abroad by All-Korean Committee for Implementation of June 15 Joint Declaration.

The speakers said the settlement of south-north issue was neither the issue of others nor the one to be solved by the international community. They went on:

It is the time when there should be responsible actions, not talk about confidence only. They should begin with the attitude of respecting the south-north joint declarations and implementing them.

They called for making the next year a year of turn in ushering in the second June 15 era, aware that reunification cannot be delayed any longer, as it will mark the 70th anniversary of Korean liberation and the 15th anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration.

They urged the south Korean authorities to come out to implement the October 4 declaration as it reflects the sincere desire of the Koreans of all social standings to see the south and the north become peaceful and prospering one and indicates concrete tasks and ways for doing so.
