Present there were members of Korean organizations including the Federation of Koreans in the U.S. and other compatriots.

Read out there was an appeal to all Koreans in the north, the south and overseas sent by All-Korean Committee for Implementation of June 15 Joint Declaration on the anniversary.

Speakers there referred to the atmosphere of reconciliation and cooperation mounted between the north and the south thanks to the adoption of the declaration.

Had the declaration been implemented, the road would have been paved for reunification, they noted.

It is nearly seven decades since the division of the Korean nation, they said, calling for ushering in the second June 15 era of reunification to put an end to the tragedy of division as early as possible.

They called on all Koreans to turn out as one for the reunification and prosperity of the country.
