They watched a video on the 7th anniversary of the declaration.

Kang Min Hwa, vice-chairperson of the Association of Koreans in Japan for Peaceful Reunification, gave a lecture titled "Historic October 4 declaration is immortal programme for reunification to usher in a new era of independent reunification, peace and prosperity under the banner of By Our Nation Itself".

The October 4 declaration was provided thanks to the will and patriotic bold decision of leader Kim Jong Il to carry out the last instructions of President Kim Il Sung for national reunification, Kang said, referring to the contents, validity and vitality of the declaration.

Kang explained the positive steps taken by the DPRK to pave a new wide avenue for improving the north-south relations and reunifying the country under the banner of By Our Nation Itself.

Steadfast is the will of Koreans to preserve and implement the north-south joint declarations despite difficulties and ordeals in the way of realizing the cause of national reunification, Kang noted, and went on:.

Officials of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan are convinced that Korea is sure to be reunified as Marshal Kim Jong Un is standing at the helm of the revolution.
