Sinphyong Kumgang Restaurant

Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- On the way from the capital city of Pyongyang to Wonsan City, Kangwon Province in the DPRK there is Sinphyong Kumgang Restaurant in Phyonghwa-ri, Sinphyong County, North Hwanghae Province. The restaurant is situated in a picturesque place surrounded by mountains and a man-made lake. It was a small teahouse 15 years ago, but has developed into the present general service centre. It is now well-known among Koreans and foreigners for serving local foods like Codonopsis lanceolata, anise, aralia shoots, Songi mushroom, mandarin fish and carp. After the birth of the ski resort on Masik Pass, the restaurant has become evermore crowded with visitors. Pak Chang Guk, a staff of the restaurant, told KCNA that it gives 24-hour service to guests and has made possible efforts to satisfy them. |
