Disabled Persons Busy with Training for Para Asian Games

Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) -- Disabled persons of the DPRK are now undergoing intensive training with the approach of 2014 Para Asian Games slated to open in Inchon of south Korea soon. Disabled persons of the DPRK made debut in the 15th Para Olympic Games held in London in September 2012. At that time DPRK disabled persons took part in the swimming event. Disabled persons of the DPRK took part in the 3rd Para Asian Games held in Malaysia in October 2013. They bagged a silver medal and a bronze medal in the table-tennis and swimming events. Sportspersons of the DPRK grabbed 11 gold medals in the 17th Asian Games. Very high is the enthusiasm of disabled persons of the DPRK to compete in the games as the DPRK came first in the women's football. Secretary General of the Korean Sports Association for the Disabled Ri Pun Hui, who was under treatment at a hospital, visited a training ground to encourage the players. Ri said that disabled players remarkably improved their skills amid high sporting enthusiasm across the country, adding that they would prove successful in the table-tennis event. Different units including the Naegohyang Joint Venture Company are helping the disabled players in their life and training with deep attention. |
