Pyongyang, October 10 (KCNA) -- The Sinpha Revolutionary Site in Kim Jong Suk County, Ryanggang Province in northern part of Korea, is associated with the activities of Kim Jong Suk, an anti-Japanese war hero. In the site there are the statue of Kim Jong Suk, woman commander of Mt. Paektu, and historic relics preserved in their original state. During the anti-Japanese armed struggle, Kim Jong Suk conducted underground political activities in the Sinpha area, under the strategic plan of President Kim Il Sung, to arouse the people of different strata to the struggle for the country's liberation. In June Juche 26 (1937) she formed a Sinpha party branch in the area and a Singalpha chapter of the Association for the Restoration of the Fatherland. Thanks to her energetic activities, the foundation for the anti-Japanese armed struggle had been further strengthened in northern and central Korea. Today Kim Jong Suk County has turned into an important base for education in revolutionary traditions under the guidance of the Workers' Party of Korea. Many people, including servicepersons and students, have visited the Sinpha Revolutionary Site since it was opened on October 10, 1974. |
