Present there were officials of the Korean Youth League in Japan, the Union of Korean Students in Japan and the south Korean Youth League in Japan, officials concerned and Korean youth and students in Japan.

Speakers praised leader Kim Jong Il for providing the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, the reunification programmes common to the nation.

Korea's reunification is possible when the north-south joint declarations are implemented, they said.

They called upon young people to turn out in a nationwide movement for reunification by their concerted efforts to improve the north-south relations and open a new phase of Korea's reunification.

They also called upon the young people in the north, the south and abroad to kindle the torch of struggle for implementing the joint declarations and usher in the second June 15 era of reunification.
