The statement said that a conservative internet website branded organizations of Koreans in the U.S. which held a meeting demanding the probe into the truth behind the ferry Sewol disaster as "organizations following the north" and those participants as violators of the "Security Law".

The statement noted it is intolerable to term the Koreans in the U.S. who took part in the meeting criminals.

It is a serious problem to assert that the Federation of Koreans in the U.S. was the one that "manipulated the meeting behind the scene", it stressed, adding:

The conservative media are deliberately releasing misinformation labeling the federation "force following the north".

All Koreans are enraged by the "government's" attitude towards the ferry Sewol disaster. The true aim of the campaign is to cover up the truth.

The conservative media should cancel the false articles and make an apology to the Federation and Koreans in the U.S. and stop acting a stooge in the "government's" campaign to eliminate the "followers of the north".

Koreans in the U.S. will struggle till a special law for probing the truth behind the disaster is instituted.
