Woolen Tapestry, Gift to Kim Jong Il from Mongolia

Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) -- On display at the International Friendship Exhibition House in the DPRK is a woolen tapestry, presented to leader Kim Jong Il as a gift by a delegation of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party which visited Pyongyang in October 1980 to attend the Sixth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea and the celebrations of its 35th birthday. The tapestry features a young man on a galloping white horse with a fluttering red flag in his hand. In its lower part are double white thread-woven tassel and its girth is decorated with traditional patterns. It is 130 centimeters long by 98 wide. The gift represents the Mongolians' deep reverence for Kim Jong Il who perfectly personified the revolutionary idea of President Kim Il Sung and wisely led the revolutionary cause of Juche to victory through his unique ideo-theoretical activities. |
