Such events as trade fair, fine arts exhibition, photo exhibition on tourism and art performance will take place during the expo.

An opening ceremony took place at a gymnasium in Dandong on Thursday.

Present there were Bing Zhigang, vice-governor of Liaoning Province, China, and other officials of the party, government, culture and trade of the province and the city, Chinese Ambassador to the DPRK Liu Hongcai and staff members of his embassy and the diplomatic corps in Pyongyang.

Also on hand were members of the DPRK delegation taking part in the expo led by Hong Kil Nam, vice-chairman of the North Phyongan Provincial People's Committee, Kim Kwang Hun, DPRK consul general in Shenyang, and Choe Un Bok, chairwoman of the General Association of Koreans in China.

Speeches were made there.

Then, an art performance was given by the art troupe of North Phyongan Province of the DPRK.
