The Wisong Scientists Residential Quarter is the great creation of the WPK's idea and policy of attaching importance to science and talents to build on this land a highly civilized socialist nation and the most powerful country in the world envied by the whole world by dint of science and technology.

The residential quarter has multi-storeyed apartment houses of 24 blocks, schools, hospital, nursery, kindergarten, various welfare service facilities and other public buildings and parks. It is an icon of construction of residential quarter in the new century as it fully abides by the principle of convenience and architectural beauty first.

There took place a ceremony of marking the completion of the residential quarter on Friday.

Present at the ceremony were Pak Pong Ju, Kim Ki Nam, Choe Thae Bok, Vice-Premier Kim Yong Jin, officials concerned, those of the State Academy of Sciences, service personnel of the People's Army and people who participated in the construction and scientists expected to move to the new flats.

Pak Pong Ju, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and premier of the DPRK Cabinet, made an address.

He said that it is a great auspicious event of the country that the modern scientists residential quarter reminiscent of a city was built in the Unjong science area to successfully decorate this year featured as a period of great prosperity in construction.

Scientists and officials of the State Academy of Sciences should live up to the warm love and deep trust of the WPK, which provided them with modern dwelling houses and excellent research conditions, with great scientific and technological achievements.

Officials and workers in the field of construction should bring about a great surge and innovations in every construction site to build more monumental edifices in the Songun era such as the Wisong Scientists Residential Quarter.

Representatives of scientists and builders cut the tape, marking the completion of the residential quarter.
