Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- The Brazilian Committee for Solidarity with the DPRK posted an article titled "Guarantee of human rights in DPRK" illustrated with a photo showing the panoramic view of Pyongyang City on its website on Oct. 9. The article said: All citizens of 17 years and upward in the DPRK have the rights to elect or to be elected irrespective of sex, nationality, occupation, property status, education, party affiliation, political view and religious belief. Political rights of the people are ensured in the DPRK on the highest level. They are free to take part in political activities and the rights of media, publication, meeting and religious belief are guaranteed by law. It is the DPRK where all members of the society are fully enjoying all rights including the right to work and rest and the right to free education and free medical care. Everyone in this country which ensures universal 12-year compulsory education system enjoys the right to learning to his or her heart's content. The state is paying deep attention to building dwelling houses for the people. It is also taking care of the old with no supporters, children and the disabled in a responsible manner. Women have equal rights with men. Human rights are fully guaranteed in the DPRK as it is guided by the Juche idea. The Juche idea considers man as the most powerful and valuable being in the world and requires everything to serve people. It is quite natural that human rights are ensured on the highest level in the country guided by this idea. |
