S. Korean Military Authorities Hell-bent on Beefing up Forces for Pre-emptive Attack

Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- The south Korean military authorities are keen on beefing up forces for pre-emptive attack. According to south Korean KBS on Oct. 15, the south Korean marine corps has pushed forward the establishment of a high-speed task force under the pretence of coping with "surprise attack" by someone. Entering this year, the marine corps has mapped out a plan to form a task force with high-speed warships and is mulling deploying them in the waters off the islands situated in hotspot area of the West Sea of Korea. Those islands have also been reinforced with a new radar system and shoulder fire missiles. It was reported that the south Korean air force is contemplating obtaining two AWACS which may play a pivotal role in the establishment of pre-emptive attack system while the navy plans to form what it called the submarine command. |
