It Is Time for S. Korean Authorities to Comprehend Law of World: KCNA Commentary

Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- Hwang Jun Guk, chief delegate of south Korea to the six-party talks, and Yun Pyong Se, puppet minister of Foreign Affaires of south Korea, are very busy supporting the U.S. nuclear campaign. Hwang at a recent academic symposium uttered that for more than two decades "the north's nuclear adventure reduced all north Koreans to hostages of nukes." Slandering the DPRK's line of simultaneously developing the two fronts, he talked rubbish that "he would seek his original solution to the nuclear issue of the north together with participating countries of the six-party talks while increasing pressure on the north". Yun at a ministerial event related to "human rights" in the north sponsored by the U.S. secretary of State trumpeted that "the north's development of nuclear weapons threatening peace and assertion for improvement of human rights are contradictory." Crying out for coping with "missile threat from the north" and "threat of additional nuclear test," he is calling for "a joint counter-action" in the international arena. What they uttered is nothing but ridiculous jargons of faithful stooges of the U.S. and its servants in the nuclear campaign. Explicitly speaking, the DPRK's decision to have access to nukes is the inevitable results of the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK, its nuclear threat and strategy for stifling the DPRK for more than half a century. The U.S. turned south Korea into the biggest nuclear arsenal in the Far East and a nuclear outpost. On this basis, the U.S. worked out a variety of operation plans for attacking the DPRK with nukes and is putting them into practice. The U.S. stages every year joint military drills under various codenames including Foal Eagle and Ulji Freedom Guardian with south Korea. Means for a nuclear war huge enough to carry out a war are involved in the drills. In its "nuclear posture review" the U.S. listed the DPRK as a target of preemptive nuclear attack and worked out even a war scenario calling for the use of nukes against the DPRK in case of "contingency". The Korean people have been exposed to the biggest nuclear threat of the U.S. Had not the Korean people have access to nuclear deterrence under such situation, how miserable their destiny would have been and what dangerous phase the situation on the Korean Peninsula would have reached. The U.S. nuclear threat is making all Koreans nuclear hostages and the DPRK's line of simultaneously developing the two fronts is the most righteous one for defusing the nuclear war threats on the Korean Peninsula and reliably ensuring peace and security of the Korean nation. A war is deterred on the peninsula and peace and security have been preserved in the Asia-Pacific region thanks to the DPRK's nuclear deterrence which is physically checking the war moves of the U.S. and its followers. Those who do not know about this are either politically blind ones ignorant of the law of the world or traitors leaving all the interests of the nation to the tender mercy of outsiders. No interests would be thinkable apart from national sovereignty and vital rights. The servants of the outsiders' nuclear campaign would be well advised to face up to the trend of the times and stop at once their despicable acts of treachery. |
