Hessou Kohovi, chairman of the Benin National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea and Benin-Korea Amicable Association "Long Live Kim Jong Il, Supreme Leader", was elected chairman of the remembrance committee at the inaugural ceremony.

The committee decided to organize political and cultural events praising the feats of leader Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the third anniversary of his demise.
